Re: This telephone pictionary is as many as four tens

I've submitted my line to JVCC for approval. I'm really not at all sure about it. Perhaps I'm subconsciously determined to dismantle the Null/James creative partnership. I'm sorry Null!

Re: A whine and complain thread

Ian, you need to change your attitude. Can't you see how damaging that mindset is? Disregarding the search for a partner – you've mentally stacked the deck such that you reject any kind of positivity coming your way. Of course Chris wishes you well! It's an entirely normal thing to do. Without reaso...

Neither did I! Though I now have vague recollections of Null breathing life into my cold dead words. I'll consult the archives.

Re: A whine and complain thread

EDIT: Ian, I genuinely believe Chris is being sincere. He's being friendly and encouraging in the spirit of the positive outlook people have been trying to instil in you. You think he's being sarcastic because you have a very negative outlook from which it seems absurd that he should say what he did...

Re: Video Game Stuff

Journey was recently re-released for PS4. I think there's a good chance it's the most beautiful game ever made. It carries beauty even in the simple game mechanic of having characters be re-energised by standing close to their partner. It's a very special game.

Re: Video Game Stuff

My favourite and most distinctive recent gaming experience has been Her Story . It's mechanically incredibly lightweight: all you do is enter search queries and watch videos. I don't want to say much, because all of the joy is in the discovery, but to briefly summarise, you are trying to get to the ...

Re: BLURT thread

I tend to be goal-oriented and single-minded; for the longest time I could never make friends at work or school because work was for working and school was for learning. So if I meet someone that I'm interested in and nothing comes of it, my immediate reaction is, "Well, I'm done with you.&quo...

Given the context I assume it looks like a Triforce or something. Am I going to have to dig out my copy just to check?

Finished the Last of Us. Huh. Ending was... huh. I thought it was going to be really depressing. But it wasnt. So yeah. The end of The Last of Us is really interesting. Incoming spoilers: I also found the ending sympathetic and kind of uplifting, but if you look at it objectively, there's a very go...

I liked that it wasn't set on Earth. I think comic book films are quite well-suited for being set in fantastical locations.

Re: BLURT thread

I don't have especially specific experience, but in general I think the idea is to find a way to spend less and less time thinking about that whole business. That may just happen naturally, but it might help to preoccupy yourself with activities, like JVCC suggested, or with other people. I'd imagin...

Re: BLURT thread

Probably not, but it'd be interesting to see how far you could push someone who's offered to take a photo of your group. "Yeah, thanks so much! If you could just follow us around for a few minutes, an hour at most, and snap a few candid photos that'd be great." That would be pretty excell...

Re: BLURT thread

People dislike candid photos because they are often unflattering, I think. In posed photographs, if people are so inclined, they can expend some effort to look nice (find good lighting, work their best angle, etc.). Even though we didn't take such pains with our posed photo, I think everyone in it ...
