Re: Movie log thread

Seeking Justice: Long ago I watched and blogged about (almost) every Nicolas Cage movie ever made, and I now feel obligated to catch up whenever one turns up on netflix. Here's my blog about it , but this is the short version: It's a pretty generic thriller that has a couple good action scenes but m...

Re: Movie log thread

I saw The Dark Knight Rises. If you made me rank the three Nolan movies right now, it'd probably come in last, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Side note: To me it's always kinda neat when you choose to go to a popular movie on a weekday afternoon and you and whoever you went with are the only ones th...

Re: Movie log thread

Child's Play. As you might guess, I thought of watching this movie because of the Leprechaun one I watched earlier - because, you know, both are horror movie franchises with comically tiny villains. Thing is, the original actually does manage to make Chucky kind of creepy, at least some of the time ...

Re: Movie log thread

Yeah, it was kind of an attempt at an "urban" revival of the series. It apparently did well enough to warrant a sequel, Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood. Warwick Davis played the leprechaun in all those movies, so yes, this movie ends with the leprechaun rapping.

Leprechaun In The Hood: You ever end up watching something incredibly stupid on netflix just because it's there and you've got 90 minutes to kill? Yeah. Aside from the ending, which infamously involves Warwick Davis rapping, the best element of this is the fact that Ice T seems to actually be taking...

Yeah, I personally wasn't a fan of the ending, or the previous sequence where it got all chase-scene-ish. Friday The 13th, Part 3. I'm making it a tradition to watch one of these I haven't seen yet every Friday the 13th until I run out, or until I don't have access to neflix anymore, whichever comes...

I am sort of considering an experiment in mustachery. I'm curious about what it would look like, it is a bit hot for beards right now, and if I don't like it I've got the options of either going clean shaven or growing the rest back.

I went to see Ted with the manager of the club I intern at (while I was supposed to be interning and he was supposed to be managing no less - it can be kind of a laid back place like that). Not anything I would have seen on my own, and I'm not even much for Family Guy, but it was fairly entertaining...

I got to come along to see Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden tonight - as in my tickets were bought for me and I got a ride part of the way in (the venue is just a little bit too much out of the way of public transportation). I had a great time. I love my friends. I also got a pretty good review for my a...

Re: Movie log thread

I just got done watching 12 Monkeys on TV, even though I own the DVD and thus could have watched it without commercials or censorship - it's cooler in the living room and we don't have a dvd player there. I forgot how funny Brad Pitt could be in that movie. Also, I remember the first time I saw it I...

Re: The [New] Music Thread

My first instinct is new music, because there's always going to be way more things I've never heard than things I have, and more music is better music. I guess I'm going to be the one up the inevitable topic of Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys passing. I'm not gonna claim I'm a huge fan, but I've alwa...

Pet Semetary. Like with Friday The 13th Part 2, it didn't exactly scare me, but it still held my interest. The only real problem I had was that to buy into the plot, I needed to believe that the main character was bereaved/crazy enough to think it's a good idea to bury things or people on that undea...

Re: MLP:FiM Personality Test

So yeah, I wouldn't really consider myself part of the fandom, but I've seen maybe a handful of episodes, mostly the early stuff, and find it fairly entertaining. I know just enough about the characters for this to seem like it might be fun, so... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v115/destroyalltac...
