Not appreciated for what you know

This comic pleased me no end, because it deals carefully and humanely with a subject close to my heart: People who constantly quote Monty Python (or the Simpsons) as a replacement for a real sense of humour getting what they justly deserve.

I knew a guy in school who spoke only in Austin Powers and Simpsons quotes. I talked to him quite a lot, and at one point I couldn't remember anything he'd said in two or three weeks that wasn't a quote. I was unhappy with him.

That actually reminds me of all that metaphorical language stuff.

I'm not really a fan of comedy catch phrases. At first I liked The Fast Show along with everyone else, but eventually it was just one giant annoyance that wanted to hurt my life. That's my problem with most modern sketch comedy: it actually sets out to be repeated incessantly by people. You know what would be better than that? Dying a thousand times.

This one is great. Seriously one of the best on the front page.

Anyways, I like to ripoff actual comedians. They rip each other off continually, so I don't feel bad. And most people don't watch as much stand up as me, so they don't recognize anything.

I also like to rape women over 60 with a meat cleaver.

That interesting article lead to this interesting article. It's funny, really. My mom only speaks Christianese. I don't think she remembers English at all.

Anyways, this comic=win. Not only because it's a stevenf, but because I, too, loathe those who constantly quote movies. And not just movies. I hate people who quote one movie, nonstop. Those are the worst people.

Oh, I've done it in the privacy of my own home. I've done it with my friends. But, for the sake of others, please do not do it in public. It's sad when the only laugh people think they can get out of others is by quoting Napoleon Dynamite.

That was bugging me so I dug the DVD out. You're thinking of "'tis but a scratch." The quote seems to simply be "Just a flesh wound," with an implicit "it's". So there.

I don't quote it all the time, though!
