Have you ever tried pheromones?

Line from PonderThis.
Image
I just love it when I fill in a colour and the previously smooth lines turn into pixely, hideous scars. I also love retracing every single line and then realizing it looks like I outlined the whole thing in Sharpie.

I agree! I think it makes for a great looking cartoon. :D

Seriously, I love that hazy lazy red sunset sky. It's really quite awesome.

Was not expecting this, and I like that.
I also like this comic a lot.

But I can't help having an overachiever mentality! I feel that if it's not fully coloured and well-lined, I've let all of you down by providing a low quality comic when I could do more. That's like serving a cake that's undercooked and without sugar to someone. Also, by 'sharp lines' I meant one pixel wide and jagged, and those are not good. It kind of makes it look like I outlined the whole thing in MS Paint with the pencil tool.

Of course, everyone has their own style. Most people on this forum do comics in black and white and also make much funnier ones than I do.

But... I was being sarcastic... Oh well. :D
I'm hoping that the Corel Painter 8 will have some tool to help with the line problems I've been having. I've noticed that they come out too sharp or too blurry, mainly due to the colour fill.

That was to make up for the line quality. I love doing cool skyscapes.

Save as .bmp, then open it in MS Photo Editor and save as .png and see if that does you better. :)

Your art is fine! The site was based upon badly-drawn comics. No one cares about the quality if it's better than mine.

I remember Jonas actually writing that the art sucked INSIDE of one of his comics, and it just killed the mood. So don't obsess over it, or you will fail.

PRESSURE.

I particularly like the "candy box" with a giant bite out of it.

I know everyone says your art is fine (and I generally tend to agree), but in all seriousness...

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT SHADOW IN THE BACKGROUND?!?!

Some sort of cruiser with its ammunition hold exploding?

A lady cut off at the knees staring up at the sky?

A man with a bow laying on an air matress, laying on his stomach?

A rip in the scenery, a la Truman Show?

The square head of a huge robot with a hat coming up from the horizon?

(Sad thing is, after this brainstorm I'm still not quite sure what you were going for.)

Is it not a building, with trees planted around it?

Just to clarify, it's a lion sitting on a rock. And if you need it's presence in the comic explained, there is no hope for you.

Let the evisceration commence!

One of them has a collar and an eartag... so I suppose they could be domestic cats, but that wouldn't explain the setting. So lionesses is my best guess, sorry.

Lesbian ones?

The one on the left is giving her homepurrl advice on how to attract the object of her desire, who is silhouetted in the background (although he's looking rather Sphinx-like, which would indeed have made her lesbotic).

Oh, I assumed that one was giving the other chocolates and flowers, and the other one was therefore giving advice on a more effective way of indicating she was interested. Then I realised they were both female. I couldn't figure out why the chocolates and flowers would be there if they were intended for somebody else, because, well, if I bought chocolates and flowers for a guy, I can't imagine first showing them to my friends and asking, 'Hey, do you think he'd like these, or should I go for the orange-red roses with a hint of salmon?' I'd just give them to him before the roses died and I ate the chocolate.

the sphinxlike thing made me wonder if it should actually have been "have you ever tried pharaohs", too.

...The lioness is wearing a necklace and earrings to mimic human attempts at attractiveness. If you look carefully, you can see that there are two earrings. :x

What happened there is that one lioness tried giving flowers and chocolate to the lion in the background. He took a bite out of the 'heart' and determined that it wasn't good, what with all the brown gooey stuff in it. The lioness went to a friend to ask for help. The friend suggested pheromones.

I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SIMPLE. :x

It would be simple if there were a lion and a lioness in the foreground, and the background were relegated to... well... the background.

Yeah I didn't get that that was a lion in the background until you explained it.

Luckily, I got the joke anyway... I just did a double-take later when I realised they were both female.

Same here.

Lesbiotic? Someone should make a comic about that. Though, in fairness, the new Bionic Woman comes close.

(Man, Robert Burns' poem sucks unless you convert it into modern English [and if you do that, it rhymes even less]. Pfft. Rhyming a-gley and joy. Who did he think he was?)

I guess the original rhymes if you talk like Robert Burns.

Ah! Got it. Reminds me of the webcomic Faux Paws, actually. :)
