Similar to the Garfield minus Garfield, this is a forum containing screenshots of a website that randomized panels from the Garfield comic strip. The original site was taken down, but what remains is pure hilarity.

I never understood the deal with Nermal. Effeminate in both nature and looks, (obviously) voiced by a woman in the series, and still a male character. And one that's obnoxiously and (intentionally) annoyingly cutesy. Is Jim Davis a homophobe?!

Woah. I always thought that Nermal was a girl. I guess the fact that it didn't look as freakishly deformed as other females in the comic (see farthest right character) should have tipped me off.

The other day, on another board, I took Monday's strip (appropriate, huh?) and GMGed it, then added Garfield back, and finally, added the thought bubbles... only I did it all in text.

The results:

WITHOUT GARFIELD

Panel 1:

(Jon is presumably sitting at a table with his right elbow on the table, right hand to his face, and the other forearm is resting on the the table.)

JON: What are we going to do today?

Panel 2:

(Same position, mouth closed. No speech.)

Panel 3:

(Same position. Jon makes an Aside Glance. No speech.)

WITHOUT THOUGHT BUBBLES

Panel 1:

(Jon is presumably sitting at a table with his right elbow on the table, right hand to his face, and the other forearm is resting on the the table. Garfield, too, is sitting there, mirroring Jon's position.)

JON: What are we going to do today?

Panel 2:

(Garfield faces the reader, eyes wide, pupils small, left arm down. Jon is in the same position as before, mouth closed. No speech.)

Panel 3:

(Garfield turns his head toward Jon, eyes still wide, pupils still dilated, both arms still on the table. Jon is still in the same position as before, and makes an Aside Glance. No speech.)

AS-IS

Panel 1:

Bart isn't effeminate. And it's not quite as obviously a woman as with Nermal. The voice actress for Nermal didn't even bother to make her voice sound male. Also, Nermal has long eyelashes.

You have seen it before. It's from a Russian photo shoot (iirc), and is part of several internet memes.

Also, realcat is my favorite permutation of Garfield... it's what we all *should* be seeing everyday, since Garfield can't really talk, y'know.
