That link is awesome. Never knew you could pretty much write a web page in your address bar. (Safari 3.something in case anyones wondering)

It really is quite lovely. I used it (without base64 compression) to do this: this. You can do all sorts with it. At work I have a Greasemonkey script to extract data from a webpage and put it into a base64-encoded tab-delimited spreadsheet. Then I run a big horrible Excel macro on it for formatting. Handy, though. You can theoretically encode any data in it, I think, although you're limited by the particular browser's URI length limit, I think. But you can do simple GIF images, for example. Not that you'd write that from scratch, but YOU KNOW.

It's more portable and more logical, but DAMMIT I LIKE MINE MORE.

Look at what I have done!

For the third frame of the fourth one, you have to assume he's moonwalking. It makes it a lot funnier.

James does not have any shemale porn folder open on the screenshot, I checked, people. Maybe he made sure to close it first.

EDIT: He's got windows set to group similar items, so he could have it open. And apparently Toyota is good for jihad?

That was a friend's MSN Messenger name for ages.

Anyway, everyone knows I don't like shemales. Nah, I'm into those videos where women in high heels crush small animals to death. That's how I get my jollies.

I noticed I got the date of the first comic wrong in the code (it's the 19th —not the 16th — of June, 1978.) and of course I can't change it without changing the URL. Maybe I'll post amended code if I feel like it.

I, too, like the data: URI scheme instead of the javascript: one, but IE doesn't support it. Also fun for IE: URLs must be no more than (approximately) 2^11 = 2048 characters long. That means that the entire javascript code needs to be short. The whole funkiness of that link (looks like $="<¢>ThÛEagÔ_FirÛËRäizƯ...) is a compressed version of the page which gets uncompressed by code at the end of the link. I didn't come up with it... I found it online (don't have the link with me right now)

AWAY!

EDIT: Oh, here's that compressor thing

This one is funniest if you go through the comic a few times in a row.

I see that the original GmG guy did this same one the other day.

Crazy regex contest. I think I saw that in one of those Obfuscated C contest things (which I was reading about on Wikipedia), except it was probably Obfuscated Perl, but whatever. I found it very confusing; doubly so because I didn't really know what regex was at the time. WHAT THE HELL ARE ALL THESE DOLLAR SIGNS AND OTHER PUNCTUATION MARKS?

I feel that avatar would be slightly better if Garfield was facing rightwards.

Also, in the "I hope you learned your lesson" panel up there, it looks like Jon's about to rape Garfield.
