For April Fool's Day, my friend Brody and his girlfriend Emily (they're both seventeen) told her parents they were engaged. They got them downstairs and he told them about how he was going to provide for them financially, and lots of other stuff. Emily's mom started to tear up, so Brody kept squeezing Emily's hand to tell her to stop, which she took a signal to keep going.
Emily finally went over to hug her mom, and whispered, "Aw, Mom, it's okay, because this is an April Fool's joke." Her dad laughed for about ten minutes straight, and her mom started crying more because she was so happy.
