Six Degrees of Wikipedia

This should be fun! Someone issues two things as a challenge, and the first to come up with a series of links that takes you from the Wikipedia page of the first thing to the Wikipedia page about the second thing in 6 or less steps wins, and in turn, issues their own challenge. The starting point does not count as a step.

Example: Dog --> Paperclip.

Answer: Dog --> Police Dogs --> Police --> Rudy Giuliani --> World Trade Center Site --> Paperclip

So, first challenge:

Newspaper --> Zeus

EDIT: Edited for clarity.

Newspaper -> horoscope -> astrologer -> Mesopotamia-> Zeus

Do I get a bonus for doing it in only 5 degrees?

Answer: Newspaper --> Weather --> Thunderstorm --> Lightning --> Zeus

New one:

Chili Peppers --> GTA3

Okay, my challenge is Coconut -> Judy Garland

Good luck!

Dammit, now who gets it?

ZP needs to decide as he is contest manager.

I like my challenge better. But it's harder.

Also, someone should keep score for this game, dammit. I like scores. Makes me feel important.

Chili Pepper --> Endorphin --> Morphine --> Heroin --> Illegal Drug Trade --> Grand Theft Auto (Series) --> Grand Theft Auto III

Um... my challenge is Coconut --> Judy Garland, as Nik suggested.

There, problem solved.

Coconut --> California --> Hollywood --> Hollywood Walk of Fame --> List of stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame --> Judy Garland

I hope I did that right.

Dunkin Donuts --> First Law of Thermodynamics

Alternately, Coconut --> Tropical/Tropics --> Madagascar --> Dreamworks --> The Walt Disney Company --> Beauty and the Beast --> Judy Garland.

Anyways, proceed. Hope you guys are enjoying this little game I've made.

I did it an even more complicated way, heh, so good job guys for making it easier. I too like this game quite a lot.

Hm, is this one over?
Dunkin' Donuts --> Hash Browns --> Toaster --> Fire --> Thermal Energy --> Thermodynamics --> First law of thermodynamics

Don't finish one without suggesting a new one!

Since you didn't, I will, courtesy two random things on my desk.

Calculator --> Dr Pepper

by Portals
Calculator --> Private Label --> Store Brand --> Dr Pepper

I got it in four... Is that okay?

Here's my suggestion:
Backpack --> Thermometer

by Itszutak
backpack-->thermal pad-->body heat (Not counting the disambiguation here. Is that allowed?)-->temperature-->Fahrenheit-->thermometer.

>_>

Also: Headphone-->John Logie Baird

Backpack -> Metal -> Periodic Table (is that cheating?) -> mercury -> Thermometer

Out of curiosity, is everyone making sure these actually work before suggesting them? Because if not these are some rather impressive coincidences.

DO NOT DOUBT THE POWER OF WIKIPEDIA

IT WILL CRUSH YOU

actually, it seems to me that most of these can be done in many ways; and if you can't find a way, there's always editing wik-nevermind. >_>

Yeah, let's not start out on a stub page, please.

I HATE stub pages.

And, in accordance to the rules, I changed my challenge.

even better challenge: actually read each article you link to and don't just jump from one to the next trying to make the connection! there *will* be a quiz later.

Headphone-->John Logie Baird

Argh, one over:
Headphone --> Telephone --> Western Union --> Category:Companies_listed_on_the_New_York_Stock_Exchange --> Category:Companies_listed_on_the_New_York_Stock_Exchange&from=K --> Kimberly- Clark --> Kleenex

If this is acceptable then my next challange is:
St. Bartholomew --> mitocondria.

by kzager
St. Bartholomew --> St. Bartholomew's Hospital --> Molecular biology --> Cell --> Cell (biology) --> Mitochondrion

Hippopotamus --> Kettle
