So You Think You Can Google?

Postby Nik » Sun Aug 20, 2006 10:05 pm

This is a game for all of you that think you know some insanely hard, useless and questionable trivia. And for those that are google sharpshooters. How do you play?

A question is asked, with three parts to it. The first person to answer correctly all three parts, gets 10 points. A running tally is kept when the winner of the round is announced. Questions can be worded oddly, pictures can be used, but the verdict is, the answer has to be able to be reached by searching. The winner also gets to ask the next question. Guesses are posted in this thread. Ready? Let's go!

ROUND 1

Image

1. What is this little monster's name?

2. What saturday morning show was this character a part of?

3. What was the fate of this television show, and why?

I hit Google and the IMDb for an hour with "Puppet" "Puppetry" "Puppet shows" "Puppet TV shows" "Kids shows" even "Puppet space shows"--nada.

I give up.

I edited it to give a couple clues, sorry I made it so hard, I was sleeping when I did this. Don't mind me.

Boo
Little Muppet Monsters

18 episodes were produced, 2 aired

It had been paired with Muppet Babies in a one-hour show, and they didn't do well together, so they put Muppet Babies back to back with itself.

Dang...I just saw the update, and spent the last 15 minutes finding about half a dozen shows with the name "Little Monsters" in the title, including a cartoon from the 60's that was a supplement to the lame-ass "Three Stooges" cartoon of the same era.

I'm not discouraged, though. Next?

2) Why is the man on the left wearing a hat?

3) What network showed this show in the U.S.?

No, see, it's a very good question, the problem is I knew as soon as I looked at the picture what it was. Because I used to watch it.

At first I thought the guy was Tom Hanks, then Paul Michael Glaser. Now I'm convinced he's a young Jerry Seinfeld. The woman on the left, I dunno...Adrienne Barbeau?

Yeah, I'm stumped.

1) This Show is Today's Special, with Jeff, Jodie, Muffy and Sam.

2) the Hat keeps Jeff animated; removing it freezes him as a mannequin.

3) it was on PBS in the states, as well as Nickelodeon and the Faith and Values channel, which I found to cover my bases since I always watched it on TVO.

In keeping with the theme a bit...

Image

1) what is the name of this show or movie?

2) what are the bad guys called? (there are always bad guys, come on now.)

3) what is the tagline for it? (i.e. "A real American Hero" for G.I. Joe <if you're from North America>)

happy hunting.
