Flash Game Thread . . .
Because I don't see one. And, really, come on.
Not your typical side-scroller.
Cute puzzle game I enjoyed a while back. Also other funnish things at that site.
Obligatory descending-blocks game.
GIVE.

I've played this one before, and it's adorable, so I mean it in the nicest possible way when I say that it's a derivative of Magical Drop that doesn't live up to the game it's copying.

Not exactly a hidden gem, but well put together nonetheless. I love crosswords.

a) Url's wrong--there's no www.
b) Its eligibility is borderline at best--it's a javascript game, not a flash game.

I was thinking about mentioning that by "flash game" I meant pretty much any web-page game application -- since it seems flash will be the dominant format for such things until (I hope) AJAX comes into its own . . . but I figured that would be unnecessarily pedantic. Silly me.

I've been to that site before, but I had no idea they had a cat-herding sim.

My first year Philosophy seminar tutor recommended that site to me once. He knew something about everything.

Nanaca Crash
I got a really high score at that, and I took a screenshot, and then the drive with My Documents on it had a bit of a disaster and now the screenshot is gone, so I have no idea how well I did.

I just got 9319.86m. I think that's fairly similar to my old record. I'm a bit annoyed I didn't get 10km.
The official site, you ninnyhammer.

The game is based around an adult dating sim.

SHENANIGANS
That number made me realize there's more to do after the initial launch. The cross thingers at the top left are clickyble. The blue one respawns, I guess the red ones don't.
Oh. The blue one consumes the red ones? I wish the instructions were in English. Or even Engrish.
Oh. They are.
Anything else?
This game is teh fun.

OK, at first I was just clicking to select the angle. Then I realised that if you held the button you could change the magnitude (not surprising, really, but I was being dense). Then I realised that you could do subsequent hits mid-flight. The blue type redirects the guy downwards (but at the same angle of incidence (I hope that's the correct term)) and recharges while you're in the region between the top of the people's heads and some point maybe about 75% of the way up the screen (you can see the percentage increasing while you're in that zone. When it reaches 100% it's recharged). The red ones don't recharge, and redirect the guy upwards at the same ... angle. I think you do the blue one if your guy's on the way up and the red one if he's on the way down (otherwise his direction wouldn't change). Also, there is occasionally when you hit a person the word 'special' flashes and if you click you get multiple boosts (usually three, but sometimes more) and sometimes some other additional effect. One of these would otherwise stop you and another would otherwise block you, and they come up with the words 'stop' and 'block' as usual, so if you're not paying attention you might not notice the special thing and then things all go bad. The time that I beat 10km I got a special that I'd never had before (except possibly months ago when I first played this) which involved making the guy fly horizontally just over the heads of all the people for a set amount of time. Free distance, basically. I think that one's either pretty rare or only comes up after a certain distance. Another special that doesn't come up very much causes all boosts to have twice the effect. I may be mistaken, but I think the specials are influenced by the distance you've reached.
Christ, now I do seem sad.
