Got Java?

Postby stevenf » Wed Jan 31, 2007 8:04 pm

Just conducting an unscientific survey here.

(Note: All Safari users should answer Yes, as Safari ships with Java installed.)

When does the poll end? I'm witholding my vote until then, in the event of a tie.

Sorry, CC, couldn't resist.

Oh I was just idly curious. I know that Flash is available like 98% of the time, but Java isn't usually installed out of the box.

Don't worry, I have no immediate plans to turn the site into a primitive tic-tac-toe game.

Wow, either Java is more widespread than I thought, or you're all atypical internet users.

I VOTE ATYPICAL

Most people end up with Java installed (if not enabled) to play online games and the like.

It is a bit odd, but I stated somewhere else before that I got a new computer at work. I have Java but no Flash. How retarded is this?
Sorry, still annoyed at no Flash

Is there a popular online game that uses Java, not Flash?

I think the online versions of Popcap Games games are Java.

OK, I just did a quick search and it appears that they used to, but now they use ActiveX.

As are a couple Shockwave games, WEIRDLY ENOUGH. And people use applets for all kinds of things.

Popular gaming sites like ArcadePod and AddictingGames use Java as well.

I just get "register failk" over and over. But then again, my work computer sucks.

"...features enhanced video performance..."

Yeah...it won't show moving gif files. Just the first frame.
