Make Your Own Comic 6

Postby createacomic » Mon Sep 03, 2007 1:51 am

Here's a new template I'm going to be using soon. It's based on a webcomic that recently gave me permission to use it. It's Little Red Riding Hood stuffing the witch from Hansel and Gretel into the oven as the main female lead looks on in horror. Whee!

I couldn't tell who was speaking in the first panel. I decided it was the dark-haired guy. Also, I didn't stay in the lines. I LOSE.

I thought the last two panels needed some dialogue. But I couldn't come up with anything good.

Hmm, I'm just not feeling this one. I'll just sit this one out and watch everyone else. :)

It's a bit chaotically laid out, and not easy to follow. I think I'll sit it out too.

...oops.

Hm. I think you're right. This one ought to go with the one before it, which gives a better picture of what's going on. Now I know to use this as part of a set and not standalone.

Rather than start a new contest, I'll just post a new template here from another webcomic that recently gave me permission. I think this one might have more potential.

I applaud Chrism mostly because I have been watching the Rocky marathon all day on the Versus channel.

I thought I had an idea for the first one, but then it wasn't funny enough to outweigh the fact that the text didn't sit inside the boxes. But maybe for this second one...

'Tis done.

I keep being distracted by the fact that the actors look like Shaggy wearing lipstick, Bob Dylan, and Cheech Marin. And that's funny enough right there.

All they have to do now is walk into a bar.

"Hey Stranger" makes me think of that weird guy that sells you guns in RE4. I don't think he ever says "hey", BUT IT STILL REMINDS ME.

Ha ha!! James' is my favorite. Nice absurd reporter-speak, and then a plot-twist at the end. What more could I ask for? :)

Kupo: LOL

They can meld into the shadows!

I wonder if that crossed a line. Probably not.

Kupo also gets points for using an Internet meme in his comic but still being funny.

I sometimes try to pass on Internet memes to my students, but they don't really seem to catch on. The most success I had was when I used Weebl's "Badger, Badger, Badger" song with some Kindergarteners as a warm-up exercise song. Picture 20 some 5-6 year olds bouncing up and down like the badgers in that flash. Cute and hilarious at the same time.

Isn't is supposed to be "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"? Otherwise there is no 's'.

Aye Wait, I have Schott's Original Miscellany in my room!

*minutes pass*

It has seven. And here they are!

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Waltz, bad nymph, for quick jigs vex
How piqued gymnasts can level six jumping razorback frogs
We promptly judged antique ivory buckles for the next prize
Sixty zippers were quickly picked from the woven jute bag
Jump by vow of quick, lazy strength in Oxford
Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz

I favour the last one.
