I recognised him. I've been in a Cathedral where the statues behind the altar were smashed to pieces by Cromwell (or at least his soldiers) and so they replaced them with modern folk who were quite nice and believed in God. They had Martin Luther King Jr on one in a bright blue suit. He looked awkward.

He's very well-known. I think most people would recognize him. I certainly did. Pretty much everyone will know the name; most will know the face.

For a second I thought you meant Stephen Lawrence. I guess nobody outside the UK will have heard of Stephen Lawrence, though. He was the victim of a high-profile racist murder, the details of which I was a little too young to remember. I think it was such a massive story because the police were being racist in the investigations or something. I guess I could have actually read the Wikipedia article rather than just using it to check the spelling of his name.

You know what? It's really important that Tide marketing text reflects something as relevant to the product as the majority religion of the US. After all, if theology isn't relevant in the field of detergents, where the hell is it relevant?
