Yes Kerrybelle, God gave some inventors the smarts to invent Tide back in the early 40's, they wouldn't have even been born much less invented Tide if it weren't for God's intervention and divine plan. So yes, He has alot to do with even something as small as clean laundry.

I love how God is giving laundry detergent to someone who doesn't even have any clothes.

Ha hahahahaha!!! DB you got so totally poned!*

* - PS, that's how I've decided to spell it from now on, because I hate l33t crap that has numbers and symbols instead of letters. Unless I forget and spell it pwn3d or pwnt, in which case never mind.

Also, I was wondering as I made that if Martin Luther King jr is well known outside of the U.S.

Do you non-americans recognize him? Or did you think I found a picture of a random black person?

I recognised him. I've been in a Cathedral where the statues behind the altar were smashed to pieces by Cromwell (or at least his soldiers) and so they replaced them with modern folk who were quite nice and believed in God. They had Martin Luther King Jr on one in a bright blue suit. He looked awkward.

He's very well-known. I think most people would recognize him. I certainly did. Pretty much everyone will know the name; most will know the face.

I congratulate the rest of the world for once again knowing more about my country's history than we know about yours. Although maybe MLK Jr is kind of like Gandhi, not just in their anti-violence beliefs, but in their worldwide fame.

I know, but it probably would have all been downhill from there.

Ohhhh now that I know it's not Martin Lawrence, it's even funnier!

Yes, I knew it was him. I thought I should reassure the Americans amongst you who sometimes don't get self-deprecation in the pursuit of hilarity. :P

For a second I thought you meant Stephen Lawrence. I guess nobody outside the UK will have heard of Stephen Lawrence, though. He was the victim of a high-profile racist murder, the details of which I was a little too young to remember. I think it was such a massive story because the police were being racist in the investigations or something. I guess I could have actually read the Wikipedia article rather than just using it to check the spelling of his name.

Do people write Tide fanfiction on the Tide message boards?

Because, if so, I can imagine it'd be rather clean stories.

LOL:

Only a moron could possibly believe all that we see around us happened without some divine miracle from Someone much wiser and more powerful than any human.

And then someone else:

let face it 84 % of all americans are christians, and i for one am tired of the 14 % non-beleivers telling us to take god out of our lives and government.

What happened to the other 2%? I guess those are the devil worshipers, then, right?

I don't know - I was confused by that as well. Is she saying that there's only 2% of people in America who believe in a non-(judeo)christian god? Hrm... apparently that wouldn't be too far off.
But I'm thinking she's probably just bad at math...

You know what? It's really important that Tide marketing text reflects something as relevant to the product as the majority religion of the US. After all, if theology isn't relevant in the field of detergents, where the hell is it relevant?
