Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
I am tickled to be featured on the Gothamist's cover photo for their coverage of Friday's drag parade, but while the headline proclaims "Pure Fabulousness", don't be fooled: I'm clearly visibly wearing just-came-from-work clothes. So a less misleading headline might read, "Almost Pure But Slightly Adulterated Fabulousness Because Come On Some Of Us Have Time Constraints".

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
I see several people wearing "just-came-from-work clothes". But I also see lots of people whose clothes might be "just-came-from-work", depending on the kind of work they do....

Aha, so my true identity remains safely under wraps, just as I planned.

First day working at the customer cafe in Morrisions. Completely different type of job to what I had before, but fun. Exhausting, but fun.

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
Nice. I just got back from a nice trip to Florida with my family for the holidays, which was most enjoyable despite different family members being sick at different times for the duration. Made the most of it, enjoyed the warmth, and missed two storms of freezing rain and snow while gone. Only the last storm was still on my driveway when I got in, so it was manageable to clear this morning when we got home. A bit of a shock though, to go back to being outside when the air hurts your face.

That's a real thing around here sadly. It's not often that happens, but it does. Cold weekend coming too, already -20C.

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
Came through Irma unscathed. A few days of no power and some yard debris, but that's it.
SO glad that's it.

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
That's awesome man. Prognosis on my parents' place is pretty positive too, though we won't know until they get back inside what the damage might be from water or wind. We know from street cameras that the odds of structural damage are very slim.

An internet buddy of mine lives in Sarasota and they lost power for a day or two but apparently no major damage either.

Good thing that wall isn't going anywhere. I hate when walls get wanderlust
