So (does some quick math), $146.27 US was your fare for the fair, eh?

I've been pretty pleased that the exchange rate with GBP has been pretty much 10:1 recently. I can know what a SEK value means at a glance.

I was able to exchange my flip flops that broke (after one month) and get a new pair.

And today I am re-teaching myself how to do regression analyses! Never thought I'd be so happy to do stats.

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE
So I have a decent job, but it's nowhere near related to my degree (Television Production). Unrelated, I happen to be a big fan of Starcraft 2, and actually have gotten into watching professionals play it.
So the good news is that I just got a job working a camera at an upcoming Starcraft 2 tournament in Atlantic City. It's only a one time thing, but I will hopefully get a foot in the door of the e-sports industry.

I love this post so much I'm going to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant!

you should totally get in touch with nik and get her news station to help you cover it. then you can hit up a happy hour together and expense your bar tab as "entertainment expenses" to your respective companies

The project is going just fine, I'm having lunch with my dear friends from my last job, and my friend had his first radio interview with his band. I'm very happy today!

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
I'll get more details on it later, but the club I intern at is going to have a fleamarket in the afternoon in a couple of weeks, and the person running it wants me to be the DJ. This basically means that they like my music tastes enough that they're going to pay me to make a four hour itunes playlist, and that's pretty awesome.
DRASTICALLY IMPORTANT UPDATE: Actually, just a one hour playlist - I was unaware that two other people on the staff were asked to do it and thus I'm not special.

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD
How did it go Quetz, HMM?
I guess I hadn't logged on here since at least October 6th (based on the date of the last post in this thread which was still unread), SO THIS IS HAPPY NEWS THAT I AM HERE NOW YES?
Fah who am I kidding.
Anyways, happy things! Holidays approach, you guys have any plans? Traveling anywhere cool (or, warm as the case may be)? No plans here really, other than a holiday housewarming party... you guys are invited if you can make it! Bring swim trunks and a towel for the hot tub, and a dish for the potluck! And beer!

I am remaining where it is cold, rather than returning to where it is cold.
If I wasn't living paycheck to paycheck these days I would actually go to your party. I miss Crimbles hot tubs!

I am amused and confused and like this statement so much. "I, miss Crimbles..hot tubs!" Poor Miss Crimbles and her rampant ADD.
I am staying in CO for the December-January holiday season. Went to Florida for Thanksgiving though, which was very nice.
Bink, I would totally come to your party but the weather you've been sending down here will probably return and I'd get stuck in the middle of Wyomtana. I also don't have that many vacation days left.
Happy thread, happy, happy,,,hmmm...Oh! Someone brought in cupcakes for the whole office today. I am now the proud owner of a plastic reindeer ring!

Where did this unread thread come from?
Because it's.... delicious?
Ohhh I see. No. Naughty Binks.
That's what the asparagus is for.
I'm not really happy about too much right now. OH WELL. At least I'm not dead, I suppose.

Aww man I'm getting sigged to hell right now. Poverty must be an inspiration. At least, it is inspiring me to whine more, which I guess is something. Who has a topic they'd like me to whine about?

Ah, more happiness!
It's sort of too early to say, but I may be getting a bibliography I compiled for an author published. I don't know yet. I chose him because he's a relatively obscure Victorian poet (not as big today as Tennyson or the Brownings, we'll say), yet one that I'm still interested in. A small group of scholars and critics have been interested in him since the 70s, but not a ton of work has been done on him. Anyway, the whole semester my professor kept saying that if I did well enough I could get it published and more recently he mentioned an independent study. He emailed me today saying that I did a good job so I'll meet with him next week to discuss all of it. This could be greeeeeat. Even if I don't go on for my Ph.D. it will look good to community colleges that I may apply to for teaching jobs. Getting published, I mean.
