I disavow your refusal to acknowledge my defiance of your failure to heed my refusal to accept.

I can't decide if there's a missing comma, or if you're suggesting I only slap you.

I would entertain the possibility that a second, unrelated, James has arrived and that ntw wishes only for you to remain focused on your aforementioned goal.

I am crazy sick happy. Santa brought my girls trunks filled with everything a Hogwarts student could need:

Then we played Hogwarts all day. I mean, literally all day. It's 5pm and this is still happening. Best. Day. EVER.

I would have responded with " 'twas I" and it would have been great.

Hey, everybody! Just thought I'd let you know that an abstract of mine has been accepted to an academic conference in London this July. Basically, that means I get to read a paper about the two authors I wrote my thesis on in front of a bunch of experts (and some other punters, like myself). It's going to be terrifying and awesome and a whole lot of other things besides.

I don't know how long I can afford to be in the UK, but if any Spamusers across the pond want to meet up let me know.

EDIT: Oh, and any tips on how to travel as cheaply as possible would be greatly appreciated.

It's around the time that I'm rather hoping to be teaching in another country, but if I'm not, that sounds delightful.

Congratulations! I tried to get a paper in for a European conference just after Easter, but it didn't make the cut. I can't really predict what I'm doing any more than one week in advance, but I think I'd expect to be tied up then, sorry.

a) Congratulations
b) You'll be reading the paper in front of yourself?
c) London? I think I live near that place
d) I'll be turning thirty in July, and might be abroad pretending it isn't happening at the time
e) If not, I'd certainly be up for being awkward in person
f) In the region of what sort of date would this be, anyway?
g) Travel depends on where you're hoping to go, and over what sort of period of time. You can get a travel card or this thing called an Oyster card. If money's really tight I believe buses are cheaper than trains, but then you're on a bus
h) Congratulations again
