Someone made the mistake the other day of (sarcastically) telling me "I'd pay to see you on TV"

Well, challenge accepted

And don't try and change the channel, I'm on all of them

Yeah, innit?

This might be the year, and by that, I mean if they collapse down the stretch again and finish below .500, I am going to take a hostage

This weekend, I chose Hocus Pocus for family movie night. My kids really, really liked it, but they did have a few kind of funny questions, like "Why are they stealing that kid's shoes?" To which my only answer was, "It was the '90s." Then the following conversation occurred with my six year old:

Her: So this was made, like, in the olden days. You probably weren't even born yet.
Me: No, I was. I was in high school.
Her: (long pause) Wow, you're really old then.

I think the main question I had after watching it as a slightly older kid was, "Why is everyone in this movie obsessed with virginity?"

And I think Mulpis' answer is still valid there.

Guys, look, I got a cuttlefish for my birthday! They are my favorite cephalopod.

It seems to be attacking my hair. I'm sure that's fine.

Please explain to me how cuttlefish are superior to octopi. Aside from their obvious cuttling.

I've never seen anyone look so indifferent while being attacked by a cuttlefish.

I can only explain why cuttlefish are superior to octopus in my eyes, not why anyone else should agree. Although, as the video Chrism linked illustrates, they have a lot going for them.

I hadn't expected it to attack, you see.

I like to think that your clock is on GMT, and you just recalculate for local time.

That clock doesn't actually work.

Dusk wrote:I, for one, welcome our new cuttlefish overlords.

I was going to make a joke about how the cuttlefish, having killed me, had begun masquerading as me using its shapeshifting abilities. My attempts to gather more information about cuttlefish shapeshifting abilities, however, led me to discover some gay cuttlefish shapeshifter erotica instead.

Now I'm deeply unhappy.

Years+ ago, one of my brothers and I read a story about Cuttlefish in a Sci-Fi magazine. We have been in love with the cuttlefish since. Not my favorite-favorite animal/vegetable/mineral, but definitely our favorite cephalopod. And that article, and research I did on them afterwards, is the reason why they are MY favorite.
I have been searching for that article for a few years now...whenever it pops into my head and I have yet to find it. I guess it would be easier if I could remember which Mag it was.

Anyway....ARGH cuttlefish for birthday is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
