As a non-Christian, it's really annoying, mostly. If I need to run to the maul (intentional misspelling) to get a new pair of jeans, I don't want to fight with 23423242342342 other people to find a parking space. I can't even go to Petsmart to get dog food this time of year.Cry-Your-Pardon wrote:Mimiheart wrote:I HATE this time of year. And it starts with Thanksgiving. Bah rickin'-frackin' Humbug.
This time of year can be very stressful. It is for me, but I just push that aside as much as I can. I do like cooking the things that my family enjoys so much.
So much to do this time of year, but the most stressful part is the trip to Connecticut to see extended family. I have a sister who most of the time drinks too much.. lots of bad stuff in her life and she lets it get the better of her. The drive there at this time of year can be a killer and my husband absolutely hates that.
What is it about this time of year that you hate??
That's only the superficial stuff.
Last year, as I was leaving work (I work at a Synagogue) I got people yelling at me, my kids, and my students about how the Jesus Killers should shut up and celebrate the birth (along with a few other lovely things that I've tried to block out.)
And of course there's the sitting with family you don't really want to see and smiling and pretending you love them all part...
