A classmate at my secondary school triggered a loud alarm when he tried to access Arsenal FC's website. Also, residents of Scunthorpe often run into (or, at least, used to run into) automatic censorship problems.

Scunthorpe is my chosen team for FIFA games for that exact bit of childish humour.

When I was young I never used to get why people giggled at that.

Yeah, it has "Gay" on the name so it MUST be pronography....

Your firewall obviously doesn't understand Spanish. :D

Had a similar thing happen when I was going through a "I really love Orson Scott Card and everything he writes is gold" phase, and tried to go to his website (hatrack.com) at work, and it was blocked as pornography. I guess because of the "rack" bit.

EDIT: Now that I go to that website, it is terrible in its layout. It's maybe a step above a geocities site for artistic finesse. But BONUS, I spy that there is an Ender's Game movie in the works!

EDIT EDIT: It is a fan-made trailer using footage from Starship Troopers. And Orson Card put it on his website because he liked it. I AM DISAPPOINT.

It's funny because Mr. Card has the same views on homosexuality as McAfee SiteAdvisor apparently does. :P

So I didn't think that your ISP had enough manpower to track this type of stuff, but they sent me an email regarding a DMCA copyright infringement for something I'd downloaded.

Are you paraphrasing The White Stripes?

I was forced to celebrate my twenty-first birthday, since on the actual day I didn't leave the house and just did homework. The party was at a tiny cabin in the woods. I kissed three people and punched two (and there was some overlap between those two categories), which should fulfill my romantic and violent encounter quotas for a few more months.

I threw two parties while in college. The theme of both was "make terrible decisions".

The parties were excellent.
I love this post so much I'm going to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant!

Try harder next time.

Edit: My friend has informed me that I only punched one person and merely slapped another, but the guy I did actually punch was slightly upset (read: emasculated) because he didn't think I would be able to hit so hard. To clarify, he told me I could do so beforehand. My drunkenly wandering around asking people if I can hit them has finally paid off!

Hahahahaha...nice. This doesn't work so well in public establishments. TRUST ME.

Oh, you mean bars, don't you? At first I thought you were referring to public establishments in general, like the post office or a shopping mall, which made me hope you'd have some interesting anecdotes to share.

I do punch my male friends from time to time. My one coworker friend actually receives several punches every day. Unless I'm feeling down, I guess. It's my way to tell them I like them :) And I do it in public places, than do include, but are not limited to bars. Right here in the office, for example.

I guess the difference is that I don't actually try to harm them, and I know I'm pretty weak.

That's what that guy was expecting. I have a very poor memory of this, but he walked up and, I can only assume, apropos of nothing I asked if I could hit him. I hit him in the stomach and then sort of hit him again, knocking him down onto a bed/couch sort of thing. Then I think I walked away.

I should probably say that I don't intend to actually very severely hurt anyone ever, or not without their consent anyway.

I don't know about most of you gals, but my wife is strong as hell. The other day I was trying to pin her arms so that Emily could tickle her and she was easily overpowering me. For reference, I could bench 215 in high school, which was, admittedly, about 10 years ago. But still, I do enough physical lifting and such (which my wife leaves to me) that I was genuinely surprised.
