Re: BLURT thread
MY FAVRITE ANIMAL IS THE BLUE WHALE BECAUSE IT'S BIG AND NOT ROUND AT ALL. Unless you look at it head-on I suppose. Then it would look vaguely roundish.

Feeling crappy is not a valid excuse for lashing out.

I thought Tapirs were your favorite! I feel so wronged!
Mine are dinosaurs, or dogs. I don't know anymore.

Re: BLURT thread
I hold tapirs in high esteem, but it's unfortunately undeniable that hippos are much heavier. That's the science of it, and science is never wrong.

Classic response: CATS. And narwhals. Do robots count?
Also, I just remembered a portion of my dream last night: I had a pet elephant and pet giraffe, both of whom I would fold up into a drawer kind of like a sweater.

I like squids, myself. They're aquadynamic and have tentacles.
Re: BLURT thread
I like black bears, penguins, cheetahs, otters, and owls. In that order.

For me it's gibbons, and for my friend Neil it's giraffes. I also favour orangutans. There are other good ones, also. The advert campaign is annoying, but meerkats are still cool, for example.

My friend and I spent an entire night watching all the gibbon videos on YouTube and we developed our own gibbon call. Transcribed, it is roughly, "Whooooooooop-oop-oop-oop-oop-oop-oop." We weren't trying to copy you, we just like their long arms, agility and slightly mischievous nature. They're probably in my top ten.

Re: BLURT thread
There is an interesting fact about gibbons' wrists that grants them unusual mobility. I've mentioned it here before

I've cheating by looking it up online, and it is that they have a ball and socket joint, which I do now remember you mentioning. Surely whatever handles agility in a creature's brain must be better developed in them than other primates because they can dart around children--or anything else, presumably--with the greatest of ease.

The problem with gibbons is that their arms are too long and it makes them as creepy as hell. Observe:

I wish I'd got here sooner so I could have posted this.

Wasn't that worthwhile?
Anyway, animals. Marmosets are the best. They have little tiny people hands.

I'm disappointed that I'm apparently the only one who really likes birds.

fork you.
Re: BLURT thread
The funny thing, Ian, is that in the past I've thought that we had a lot of common ground because we're both bisexual and aren't very experienced in romantic relationships (I've only been in one "official" relationship, too) and other things that you complain about resonate with me, but your inexplicable antagonism towards me has made it impossible for me to point out these shared experiences or viewpoints.

Re: BLURT thread
You know what.? You're right. Sorry.
Like loofah said, I shouldn't lash out like this at you just because of this. So sorry to you for how I have acted toy you in the past, and to everyone else for how I have acted the last day or two.

Re: BLURT thread
I don't particularly mind, but it's good of you to apologize.
