Muppets Most Wanted made me excessively happy. But how could the combination of Tina Fey and Muppets not? The story wasn't as good as its predecessor (which had the nostalgia factor working for it), but it made me laugh out loud quite a few times, and I thought the songs were overall better. Usher's cameo was pretty much the best thing ever.

Went to see Guardians of the Galaxy today. First Marvel Studios film I've seen at the cinema, and it was really good. Funny and exciting. Loved Rocket (and his reactions to people). My dad came and saw it too, even though he hasn't seen any of the other MCU films he got it and enjoyed it. Aside from a few things its mostly stand alone (then again it is you know somewhere else in the frigging galaxy so yeah...).

Plus the end credits stinger... oh man that stinger. Brilliant. HOWARD THE DUCK!!! HOWARD THE FREAKIN' DUCK!!!

I liked that it wasn't set on Earth. I think comic book films are quite well-suited for being set in fantastical locations.

X-Men: Days of Future Past. Was good seeing the old and new cast together, sorta. Also the irony of casting an actual mutant in real life terms as a mutant hater was, well, ironic. Good film, though part of me wants Marvel to get the rights back so we can finally see the Avengers and the X-Men on screen...

I did re-watch Guardians Of The Galaxy recently, once it came out on dvd - the first time was in the theater, but I spent the first few minutes a little distracted wondering when the friend I came to see it with was going to show up... So the second time I got to catch details like the fact that the pink woman who Peter Quill picked up and forgot about was wearing the t-shirt he was wearing as a kid when he was first abducted.

The last movie I watched was Camp Takota - it was cute, but I have to admit a lot of the appeal was that I was already sort of a fan of the youtube people who played the three main characters (Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart, and Mamrie Hart). Other than fans of youtubers, I was trying to figure out who the audience for this is supposed to be, and concluded the answer is "adults who are nostalgic for both actual summer camp and eighties movies about summer camp": See, it doesn't focus much on the kids, and has a lot of adult humor, but it still plays most of it's camp movie tropes way straighter than something like Wet Hot American Summer.

I saw Spooks: The Greater Good tonight and enjoyed it more than any other film I've seen this year, although I was a big fan of the TV show. I'm not really sure why it's finishing now after only starting a week ago.

I admit that that did come to mind when I first saw the title.

this is not exactly a movie but I thought it was relevant, given how many of the people here were/are fans: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ms ... gbackmst3k

Joel is bringing back mst3k, and has cast Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt as the Mads for the new incarnation due out next year. He's pushing to bring it fully back, as in a full season and more seasons to come after they are done if they meet the total goal for producing said episodes. Just thought I'd put this here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet

Saw it tonight. It was good! I have some critiques, but I also genuinely enjoyed watching it.

It is pretty good! Enjoyment, tick. I don't know if we have spoiler tags here, but my opinion is terrible anyway so I won't go into detail.

As far as I know, we don't. I've just been using white as the font color to make it hard to see. It works on the setting I use, and haven't tested it on anything else.

Oh, right. So, Friendship Games. Enjoyed it overall.

Now (mildly) shipping: Flerpy (Flarpy?), at least on the human side. Favorite non-Twilight Shadowbolt: Lemon Zest, for doing something (she thought was) nice. (As far as looks are concerned, I prefer Sugarcoat, though.)
