I first laid my hands on a PC back in 1982. It was a friend's TRS-80 and, in his humble opinion, the most badass PC out there. Badder than the IBM PC and certainly badder than that piece of crap Apple ][. We used to make fun of Apple and Steve Jobs because they had written their own Apple DOS which was basically the same as Microsoft DOS, only different enough to be a pain in the ass. They were doooooomed to failure because they didn't go with the industry standard MS-DOS like Radio Shack had done with the TRS-80.

Then came the Lisa and Mac and we realized the PC world had changed. I remember the first time I worked on a Mac back in 1984 or '85. Compared to the command-line crap everything else was using it was so different and so wonderful. Steve Jobs had truly changed the world. The graphic interface you're reading this with right now has Steve Jobs to thank for being what it is today.
