I haven't ignored my prompt. I'm just having a hard time with what I want to write about.

I could go for another prompt, if anyone is so inclined.

WHO ELSE NEEDS PROMPTS ZOMG it's so hard to keep straight!

Bink--design (or build) a machine for giving prompts. This can be as simple as a small box with an opening to dispense Oblique Strategies (c), or as complicated as you like.

SYG, take a picture of some form of urban decay that appeals most to you.

Can I request simple group help, to make this fairly integrative and representative of many possible promtpings? Idea is formed, but could use help filling it out. If yes, I will make my request. If no, that is fine too.

Actually, the Oblique Strategies (by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt) are good (if vague) prompts. "Honor thy error as a hidden intention" is probably the best known one. I think there are Eno sites out there that have all of them.

Neat, I hadn't heard of those before. Haha I downloaded a little applet from their website that gives a random phrase, and I love it.

In any case, I just need whoever is willing to message me a list of 26 words, one starting with each letter of the alphabet. As good as those prompts are, I'd like to get some unique spamuser words thrown into my tasty machine. And yes, it will be tasty.

LOL...I can do this either tonight or in the morning. Most likely tonight, though.

Just one person, or multiple people?

Three-quarters done on this! Should be able to get it finished within the next day or two, depending on when I can get the tools I need.

this reminds me of the joke about how southern girls are better. the northern girls will say "you can come over later". but the southern girl will say "y'all can come over later"

Ok so I am debating whether I should build a prototype of my machine, or whether I should just draw it out and explain how it will work. Heh, and I'd like to make a virtual version of it so that we can actually use these wonderful words that I am receiving, but I am not good with that type of thing AT ALL. Anyways, just an update. This will take some time.

EDIT: silly grammar.

I am interested in randomly generating things with computers, and textual things are pretty much the easiest to generate. TELL ME MORE.

Do you have any experience with flash? I can do the animation part of this machine, but the random generation will be UBER TRICKY. There are 2 levels of random generation to be done, which must be linked IN A SUPER SEKRET SPESHUL WAY! If you're interested in helping out I can fill you in more.

EDIT: 3 levels of random generation, actually. CAN THEY BE MUSHED?! We will see.

I have used Flash, but it was at least two moons ago. Probably more like fifty. Anyway, I have limited experience of ActionScript. It's kind of like JavaScript, so I'd probably be all right.

Portals--draw a picture of a family on an outing at the aquarium. The family and all the sea creatures are all cat-based. Maybe there's a souvenier vendor selling cat-based balloons.

Cat based as in crosses between cat and human? Can do. Although I'm not so sure about the cat-based animals... A shark with a cat face does not compute.

But I'm actually drawing penguins. I'm currently drawing it, it should be done by tomorrow morning. I'll just give them whiskers, is that okay? It's hard to make a beak look feline. *grumble grumble* Fine. I'll try. But I don't guarantee that it'll look nice, like what you did with the catsharks.
