My new comic

Postby ian1 » Fri Nov 06, 2009 5:50 am

I have started an account on Stripcreator.com and already have one comic up. It uses a very surrealistic sense of humor which those here at spamusement should feel right at home with. Comment and tell me if it's any good. I'll probably add more later, so check back.

Here it is

Pretty random... You might want to do something about the aliasing that's around the characters.

For some reason, it reminds me of Red Meat.

Geez, stripcreator's still around? I bet my account's still active. I also bet they haven't changed a thing since 2003.

The thing I don't like is that neither of those comics looks like they were drawn for the content. Really, I wouldn't mind if the content was actually funny, but coupled with the generic locking characters, it comes off as hack-y. It's almost as if you were looking through some clip art and decided to make a comic that was "kinda funny." Note that it was only "kinda funny" in your head, and that is not nearly strong enough to overcome the translation to the readers'.

Nice try, I guess. Either of you can be funnier, though.

When I made those I probably wasn't thinking of them as "actual comics" or even "things that people I don't know would particularly be looking at", so all that stuff above is exactly what I was doing then. I really posted a link to mine out of... perverse nostalgia for something I enjoyed doing but no one else would find remotely entertaining at all? I don't know. Also, the last time I even made one of those was 2003, and I feel that I am much funnier now in general. So why did I post a link to something I made that not even I like? Good point, let's pretend I didn't.

Yeah, that website's kind of difficult to make funny comics. The limited clip art you can use as well as the panel limit of three is tricky to utilize.

You use... clip art? Huh.

Kind of reminds me of Microsoft Chat.
