Feedback needed

Hey folks! I need to paint something right away as a gift but need feedback first. Something about this just looks... off, but I am having problems figuring out where I went wrong! Thoughts? Suggestions? Criticisms? FEED ME YOUR BRAINSTUFFS PLX!

Note that the red was splotched on in 3 seconds, so that will be touched up. That or maybe I will do a red splatter effect across the painting. Would that look ok?
Also I will balance the framing a bit better for the actual picture; it was done somewhat hastily. YAY FOR MS PAINT

I think if the white that isn't part of the face were just a shade or two darker everywhere like it is in the corners, like barely perceptibly, it would lower the sort-of optical trickery I'm seeing where the focal point effect seems almost off... I have no idea if that's of any use or even practical, or if it would actually improve things as I am no artist... but it popped into my head so I fed it to you ;)

I like it. My only possible suggestion that's any different than another's, is to maybe (as you are fixing up the red) use a darker shade into it also? I'd think maybe that would give the impression that this creature has been feasting for a while. mwahahahaha

My eyes are drawn to the blank white areas near the black border. Perhaps gray there? I dunno
I love this post so much I'm going to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant!

I painted it, got rid of all the stupid hair and lines. I still don't like how it turned out, but it's gotta be sent out. Me so amateur.
And yes, the wall is the same sickly green colour as the zombie :P Sorry for the blur
