This is really interesting and I am surprised I hadn't heard of it before... a 16 year old infant, basically. I wonder how long she will live for, and what are the extent of her cognitive abilities? The article does not delve into it much, other than mentioning that she cannot talk and she is essentially a perma-infant... it is hard to gauge what is going on in a person's mind without the ability to communicate with them.

Wow that's quite incredible.
It's extremely rare for children with similar kinds of abnormalities to live that long. Must be heart-breaking for her parents.

Studies show cats cleverly manipulate us to get what they need.

Someone had to conduct studies to figure this out? :|

I still prefer cats to dogs. At any rate, my cat has never demanded pettings or woken me up for food. The only annoying thing my cat does is stampede down the hallway at 10 PM occasionally.

I go from wanting the punch the cats to wanting to pet the cats all the time. Only 2 more weeks until I'm back to just one cat. Sad thing is the one I want to keep is one of the ones leaving with my sister. It's a troublemaker, but it lets you pick it up and do whatever, and loves it. That's the only thing that can save a cat in my eyes... otherwise they serve little purpose. If my cat ever tried knocking stuff off tables or the like to get food, that card would get thrown somewhere, a door slammed in its face and no food until the next scheduled meal. Nobody had better tell me they wouldn't understand that either, cause you can't have it both ways. They either know what they're doing or don't, and if they do then they'll be able to recognize wen something has adverse effects.

I totally would have watched the rest of that video if it weren't impossibly choppy with no way of pausing it and letting it load.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere and I missed it. A research group in Ontario has conducted a study using mathematical modeling to determine possible outcomes of a zombie outbreak. They determined that we must retaliate hard and fast or else we cannot win. Here is a link to the article (warning: math intensive!). Also of interest is that the professor on this team, Robert J. Smith?, actually spells his name with a question mark at the end.

Higgs Boson: Destroying the Large Hadron Collider.... THROUGH TIME!

I originally had a link to a different article that described it a lot more thoroughly, but I can't seem to find it again. In any case, this article gets the point across and gives other links too.

I love those things.
Are those pictures taken at an amusement park?
