Re: Awesome Pictures
Okay, so I clicked this thread and it took me to page 1, where I was saying bad things about TF2. Was I being facetious? I have no idea. I don't recall there being a time that I haven't thought TF2 was awesome.

Re: Awesome Pictures
Then I clicked this thread back to page one, where there was a huge picture of Illidan Stormrage. I sadly recall a time that I though World of Warcraft was awesome (Fittingly enough, that was around February of 2008.)

Pictures from Russia, in color, a century ago. I have to laugh at myself about how everything seems more real in color than B&W.

Re: Awesome Pictures
I totally agree. Only the look of the water escapes the way the rest of this photo appears as though it could have been taken 5 years ago.

Re: Awesome Pictures
I've seen the whole set of pictures; there's a long file with all of them (captioned) here.
The problem with the water, by the way, is a function of how the colour was made: Prokudin-Gorsky (that being the photographer) used three colour filters, red, green and blue, on the camera and took three pictures in as rapid succession as cameras of the time allowed. With landscapes, buildings and even people this wasn't a problem, but water would continue going on its merry way regardless of what anyone wanted. Still, even the water looks fairly good in this picture, just a little too milky... non-moving water looked just as properly coloured as everything else in other pictures.

Re: Awesome Pictures
It gave me gooseflesh! There is no consistency to my appearance of gooseflesh, save for cold and certain songs.

Re: Awesome Pictures
Is it a thing common to people living in the place where you live to call it gooseflesh, or is it a thing common to you and you alone? I rather like it. It sounds creepy. But I call it goose pimples, which sounds unsavoury.
Re: Awesome Pictures
I say goosebumps. This term was also used for the tv/book series Goosebumps. That was a scary show.

Re: Awesome Pictures
I've only ever run across the term "gooseflesh" in print; I've only ever heard it aloud as "goosebumps".
