Flash Game Thread . . .
Re: Flash Game Thread . . .
Woo!
Newgrounds ends up featuring a decent amount of artistic games that I quite enjoy. There may be other gaming sites with more, but that's the only one I know of.

not sure if this counts as a game, but....
the scale of the universe this is totally cribbed from that old school "powers of 10" video but with flash animation instead of video static

That was fun! I didn't understand what was going on at first

My partner eventually caved in and looked up how to end it, and there apparently is a surprise ending as well.

There are tons of games in the Grow series.
I have played them all, but I don't know if I've actually beat any of them myself.

This was the first one I managed to beat on my own. Well, not the secret one, but anyways...

OK, so this is not exactly a flash game ... it's an HTML5 game ... And a weird HTML game at that

Haha, that's cool. Those guy's need an apo'strophe tamer.
Clicking the back button to post about it on this thread is futile. Well, I assume it's not entirely futile, but it sure would take a lot of clicks.

Thought I'd come back long enough to post a link to Flight. Control and upgrade a paper airplane with things like engines. Oh, and see if you can beat my distance record of 4415 yards:

I like everything except the occasional 'whoops, you just plain don't get any money this round' bug. I assume it's a bug. I'm all 'Hey, two thousand dollars! I can spend that money on making improvements to my paper plane!', but no.
Re: Flash Game Thread . . .
Ah man, I'm not happy with this. I was at about 2000m having used only one-fifth of my fuel, but I messed up. I think I could beat 4000m without too much trouble (the secret is apparently to fly low and flat, don't use the engine and take advantage of windmills), but I'd have to try again and again. Perhaps later.

That's weird. When I opened this thread I clicked the most-recent-reply button, and it took me to page 23. Obviously I hadn't checked in in some time. People were talking about some Tonematrix thing. I read a few posts beyond that, to a discussion about the tapir avatar, then decide not to bother catching up entirely, and just skip to the last page. IT'S THE TONEMATRIX AGAIN. Oh poopcakes.

I actually remembered several hours after posting that that had been posted before. It's still rather awesome. C'est la vie.

Page 23 is like two years ago. I can't even remember what I did two months ago.
Re: Flash Game Thread . . .
Yeah, I didn't mean that in the "YAWN, OLD" sense; just the "OH poopcakes, COINCIDENCE" sense.

This is kinda fun. It's a solar system builder. Kinda hard to get a stable system with anything going, though. Well I've only given it one try so far.

Re: Flash Game Thread . . .
Has Pandemic been mentioned before? You create a bacteria, virus, or parasite and try to wipe out the world. Problem is, as you become more successful at what you do, governments do things like close borders, close public transit, close schools, and close water works in order to stop you from spreading. If you're not a step ahead on spreading out of the country before that happens...
Anyways, the game is a bit of a head-banger. Try getting Indonesia and Madagascar.

I got a small rocky planet and a gas giant with a moon. No orbit is remotely close to circular.

Considering the weird mixture of scales that program uses, assuming it simulates something similar to real orbital mechanics (which it seems to do, aside from the planets not pulling back on their remarkably low-mass star), I'm not sure you actually could make a stable solar system. The planets are way too close together...

Bah and here's me getting around 2000 each time. It starts off okay, then for the final section gives me something like 'words beginning with XVF'.
