April's Fools?

Postby Binkatron5000 » Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:54 am

What are some of the websites that are playing pranks? So far I found College Humor, Google.uk, xkcd, Mango12 (have speakers on), and I think this and this and this (check out the video) and this from Think Geek may be pranks.

EDIT: In fact, I think everything on the front page of think geek is likely a prank. Too bad though, some of them would be awesome :D

What else is out there?

Well, there's the whole Google, Kansas business. Which of course led to Google renaming itself Topeka. :?

I was excited to see what google did for today - and the morning news spoiled it all for me.

Ohh I can't see google.com, it insta-redirects me to google.ca. I saw a screen shot though!

OC Remix automates the remixing process! Now anyone can do it! Which obsoletes user submissions! ...uh huh...

Yesterday, I tried to visit the Ohio Unemployment Benefits website and it kept redirecting me to the Communist Party USA website.

Is Google's decision to commemorate the 119th anniversary of the first documented ice cream sundae a belated April fool's, or is it considered a significant anniversary in the states?

Google commemorates a lot of things that aren't really celebrated that much.

The chat room I frequented had its "(username) has entered." and "(username) has left." messages swapped.

Gaia Online pretended that the site had been taken over by cats. Our thumbnail avatars were turned into pictures of real cats. (As opposed to pixel art of them.)

I remember several years ago, mycathatesyou.com became "my cat loves you" for the day. :)
