I got up to 4050. Yessss.

The thing is that any word that ends in "-ness" can also end in "-nesses", so that always helps me get the 13.

Except some conditions of being like foolishness, I believe. Good trick however, I'd never thought of that.

The best I've managed is 2550. Apparently I'm not the king of all words. Not at 1.30 am, anyway.

I just got to 2790 and judging by the other scores on this thread, 4000+ seems fairly astonishing.

We could perhaps all compile our words here, so that each of us can add more bulk to our own vocabularies while aiding others in the same process.

Flo:
Flow, flows, flowed, flowing, flower, flowers, flowered, flowering, flowerer, flowerers, flowerings, flowery, flowerier, floweriest, floweriness, flowerinesses, flour, flours, floured, flouring, flourish, flourished, flourishing, floss, flosses, flossed, floe, flor.

Sol:
Sold, solds, solid, solids, solidly, solidify, solidifies, solidifier, solidifiers, solidifying, solidification, solidifications, solo, solos, solitary, solitaire, solitariness, solitarinesses.

Ann:
I got nothing for this.

flog, flogging, flogged

solder, soldering, soldier, soldiers, soldiering

annual ...

I think the problem is not really that we don't know enough words, but that we can't recall them in the limited amount of time. I know that much of my problem is spelling :)

announcement! there, I just remembered that.

And all the various freakish mutations of those three words, I guess.

Uh, let's see.

Flo: Flop, floor, flood, flotsam, flotilla, float, flounce, florin, flout

Sol: Solar, solarium, solicit, solus, solve, solution, soluble

Ann: Annex, anniversary, annotate

Enough.

3090! A new milestone!

WORDS.

Here are some contributions plus a load of cheap variations on other people's words, which I put in brackets to acknowledge my diminished input.

Flo:
flounder, flounders, floundered, floundering, flounderer?, flounderers?

(flossing)
(floral)
(flops, flopped, flopping, flopper?, floppers?, floppy, floppiness?)
(floors, floored, flooring)
(flotillas)
(floats, floated, floating, floater, floaters)
(florins)
(flouts, flouter, flouters, flouting)
(floridly)

Sol:
solitude,
sole, soles

(solicits, solicited, soliciting, solicitor, solicitors)

Ann:
annoint, annoints, annointed, annointing, annointer?, annointers?

(announcements, announce, announcer, announcers, announced, announcing)
(annoys, annoyed, annoying, annoyance, annoyances, annoyer?, annoyers?)
(annuities)
(annuls, annulled)
(annexes)
(anniversaries, anniversal?)
(annotates, annotated, annotator, annotators, annotating)

We're going to learn to kick the poopcakes out of these three combinations.

It refuses to accept some words for some reason, like biofilm.

Yeah, it seems not to recognize all technical or medical terms (as in I tried some stuff which I'm pretty certain is right, but it rejected it).

3420, and I think I had further words. I still can't match JVCC's lexical prowess, however.

I don't like that it stops after you have done x amount of words with x amount of letters. I got stopped at 7-letter words and was all WTF?

Not so much a "game" per se, but Boxcar2D generates a vehicle out of random shapes and wheels, and runs timed trials on them. The best of that batch becomes the seed for the next trials, where the game makes mutations of it and tries them out. The best of that batch goes on to the next trial, and so on, and it's neat watching the evolution of your vehicle. I've been letting mine run for a while today and it's up to 739 for distance.

That reminds me of an old Flash game where you made a vector-based pseudo-biological automaton monstrosity that fumbled its way around a course to a goal or something. The evolution angle is very cool, however.

I'd be interested to know more about how it works. Does it "breed" the vehicles at all, or does it keep starting chains iterating on the best car yet?

God, I think I might end up watching this for the rest of my life.

Hmm. I'm up to generation 13 (mmost cars are getting to around 485m), and it evolved me a car with no wheels. Just a pile of boxen. Go boxen go!

Oh and James: The FAQ says the cars are bred from combining the previous generation's most successful cars. l2r n00b lulz0rz
