I would have loved a few pictures... they still on the curb?

Pics of old furniture? Nah. They weren't antique-old, just 1970's old. And my new furniture doesn't get delivered until Wednesday so I still have a couple of days until I have a couch again.
On a totally unrelated note, I've been looking up genealogy stuff and it turns out I'm part-Canadian! One branch of my family is from Illinois, who came down south from Wisconsin, and, except for the one guy who immigrated to the US straight from Belgium, they all came there from Québec. Roughly the Trois-Rivières area. The stuff that ancestry.com has online is AMAZING; I found the baptismal certificates for several of these old timers already scanned in and indexed! It's a good thing they're scanned in, too, because that old timey French handwriting is very hard for me to read.
On a totally related note, I may end up driving through Ottawa on my way to Québec later this summer. I guess you'll be too busy with babby teims but I'll wave on the way by!

If you decide to stop for coffee let me know a bit in advance and I'll see what I can do. I am busy, but I'm also on summer break. Trois-Rivières is not totally far from here either, that's pretty cool. The old French writing is hilarious indeed, specifically the "p"s.

I now have a durned fancy sectional with freaking recliners at either end. I am a seriously happy camper. The thing's so comfy when I sat down I couldn't make myself move for like an hour-and-a-half. So very relaxed.

Re: BLURT thread
That's awesome Ponder. I've had my couch/chair combo for ten years now and the couch is still one of the most comfortable on the planet, but the cats had gotten to it too much for my liking. I am looking forward to a new one, but afraid I won't find one as comfy.
Anyway - I'm in PA until tomorrow, been having fun with my friend....a little too much fun (wearing an ankle wrap), but fun. I go home tomorrow though and I have no ambition to go back to work. I came out here for a get away, as I had become a very angry person at work, but I don't have too many options and cannot leave. Home life is still good, but I was a walking time bomb every where else. I'm feeling better, but I won't actually know until I go back to work...probably Tuesday.

Sometime I should make Rogues' Gallery entries for Worf and Data and pick one of them for the front page.

this was slydon's secret spamta gift to me a couple years ago. It's been sitting rolled up in my closet until my gf and i decided to finally have it framed. after framing it, lining it up just right, and waiting for me to get the camera, i hear her say "oh, he's crying! i get it now!"

I am currently in Ottawa. I figure you're super busy with the young'un and all, Chris, so I'll just sorta wave in your general direction! :: waves ::
I'll try to swing by parliament in the morning and get my picture taken.

The Canadian parliament building looks incredibly pretty.

We have a subreddit? One that is frequented by some people who don't post here much anymore? It isn't very busy though.

I'm not entirely sure what the point is. Was it specifically to avoid the people who still hang around here? Perhaps I'd understand if I actually used Reddit.

Re: BLURT thread
I was indeed busy yesterday at a birthday party for a close friend's son, but I'm hopeful you were able to get in to the parliament buildings, and happy you came AFTER our tornado warning (we get one of those every like 5 years... and I bet you thought you'd have gotten away from all of that!). There was actually a small-ish funnel in a suburb South of the city.

Or for people who spent more time on Reddit than Spamusement?

But one can spend time on both Reddit and Spamusement with reasonable ease?

well, as i recall, ponder is from dallas. as long as the tornado is near cowboys stadium he'd be ok because there is no way you will get a touchdown there
