Progress Quest

Postby Nyperold » Wed Jan 03, 2007 1:27 pm

Progress Quest is a downloadable RPG simulator. You give your character a name, choose race and class, roll up initial stats, and click "Sold!", and there your interaction with the character's doings ends. You view the prologues in the status bar at the bottom of the window, then you can watch your character grow in power. Or Minimize it, it cares not which. If it sounds boring, well, honestly, I can see how it could get that way. If it sounds interesting, the link's up there.

I have to mention, however, that some of the items you get from the monsters... I could do without, but if I can ignore them, surely you can. After all, it's text, not pictures. But it might not be safe for supervised situations, all the same.

Long ago, I played Progress Quest, and I had a quite-high character, and was in a guild.

... I miss Progress Quest. I should start up again.

I've noticed a number of us play that, as well. :)

Well, as far as KoL is concerned, I let my account lapse, so now I've started over. And I've applied to PA. Woo.

Peasant's quest is rather linear, and not really a RPG per se, any more than ZORK is an RPG.

Yeah, it's more like King's Quest of olde.

In other news, I have a Howling Balloon Monkey named "Adora Balloon".

I'd set it to run on startup, but then my computer went fucky and I lost my progress and it seemed a bit silly to start again, considering that profress was all there was.
