Thought I'd do another one, this time my version of one that James did. PLEASE DO NOT READ if you get uneasy at seeing people talk to mirror images of themselves!

this goes on for days

I did it as a PNG since the GIF version added some discoloration. As usual, I ripped of stevenf's work.

Very good, hehe.

I've never had problems with discoloration using grayscale GIFs, but I usually stick to black and white.

I like it. Recursive humor works.

But the fine gray mist around the right-hand guy makes me think your mirroring software is poorly written. Like noise is added to the mirror image...

Thanks! :D

What mist? In this (PNG) version, I don't see mist around the right hand guy, but when I viewed the GIF version before uploading, I saw mist on the right hand guy. Do you see mist now, or did you convert it to a GIF to view?

I made it in MSPaint (w00t!) and first saved it as a bitmap, then to save space in the version I uploaded, saved in different formats and finally went with PNG because of the mist on the GIF version.

I'm guessing you have an LCD monitor, I doubt the mist would be visible on an LCD (LCD monitors have less color range than CRT monitors). It's only barely visible on my CRT. I've done some brightness/contrast/gamma adjustment here to show you what we're seeing:

Yeah, I have an LCD. I don't know what's causing this though. While working with the bitmap, I did a simple flip in a MSPaint, and then saved as bitmap, then PNG. PNG is supposed to be lossless so there's no reason it would have added that. Weird.

CRT. It's visible.

If you see mist, are you sure your browser isn't converting to a gif or something? (weird as that would be) I'm opening the PNG version in Paint, and even when I zoom in and pick colors, I still get white. I can't reproduce this problem.

Bink, I know you can see it on your CRT, I was guessing SilasX had an LCD - sorry for the confusion.

SilasX, the issue is probably MS-Paint. As I say, the "mist" is almost invisible. PNG displays natively in most browsers, and converting an image that's pure white from one format to another will not show something like this. The mist IS there... But really it's no big deal.

Are you able to see it in the demonstration I posted? All I did was adjust brightness and contrast, I didn't draw the gray area. You might also try adjusting your angle of view on the LCD screen - look at the image from higher up, or lower... LCDs are very directional, and you can see hidden details sometimes by shifting your angle of view.

Once again, I just think it's an MS Paint issue... MS Paint is a pretty basic program, and it's likely they wouldn't have seen something like this as much of an issue... It was probably a shortcut the programmers took that causes the issue. It's barely visible, and I wouldn't worry about it. MS Paint is just not designed for doing professional level image work.

It's still a good cartoon. Excellent job.

Despite the mist, which is most certainly there, this is very good. Although for some reason I think I would have liked it if the roles got swapped each time. But it wouldn't be worth weakening the simplicity of it, so ignore that.

This "mist" or "fuzz" (the patch of #FAFAFA as opposed to #FFFFFF) is very visible on my LCD, actually.
